alphamesh, innovative mesh design

alphamesh welcomes the world | international sales meeting 2019

International sales meeting with record participation

Mühlacker / Neuenbürg. alphamesh sent the invites and (almost) everyone came. “It was the fourth event of its kind and we are very appreciative of the fact that our partners from around the world managed to attend,” said Armin Fehr, Managing Director at proMesh GmbH. The event saw participants experiencing an intense two days at Neuenbürg Castle – two days that were completely dedicated to the company’s latest products and further developments.

Playing with color

“SOMETHING NEW. SOMETHING REVOLUTIONARY. 12.0 STAINLESS STEEL IN COLOR!” Ring mesh in brilliant colors. That which could previously only be done in combination with light is now available in a range of six different ring meshes which have been processed using a special coating method. “We are opening up a huge range of design options with these colored ring meshes. The new colors mean we can work without having to depend on light and the time of day, as well as allowing us to offer custom, colored design opportunities without customers having to carry out additional investments in light installations,” said Christian Urbas, Sales Manager at alphamesh, when asked to explain the idea upon which the new products were based.

Playing with light

As alphamesh does, however, wish to continue to use light as a medium through which to accent its products, the guests present at the international sales meeting were treated to a breath-taking artistic performance which displayed the diversity of the company’s ring meshes. In the vaults of the castle, these ring meshes were pulled tightly into frames before being twisted, illuminated by colored neon lights and veiled in clouds of smoke – creating a dynamic interplay between light and shadow. By displaying their products in this manner, alphamesh was able to fascinate sales partners around the globe and, once again, demonstrate its extensive design potential.

Aesthetic yet functional

The presentation for the universally applicable night time shutter security system served to demonstrate that alphamesh ring meshes don’t just look good – they are also highly functional. The system has been designed for areas with direct customer contact which occasionally need to be separated and closed off from the general public. Unlike many other solutions, alphamesh’s night time shutter is the embodiment of flexibility and freedom. It offers freedom with regard to size, as the ring mesh can be produced as one piece in almost unlimited dimensions. It also offers flexibility with regard to shape, as alphamesh ring mesh can be processed into any geometrical or free form, with “round the corner” solutions also a possibility. What’s more, the system requires only a minimum amount of installation levels and individual components in order to be fully operational. The free-standing version of the night time shutter requires only a ceiling and a floor. alphamesh’s partners proved to be particularly impressed by the simple yet ingenious concept behind the night time shutter. The only object situated between the ceiling and the floor is a metal profile which, when the night time shutter is closed, softly spreads the flowing, fabric-like ring mesh out towards the floor and which gathers it back up again when the shutter is opened. When opened, the night time shutter complies with the strictest of security standards, remaining fixed to the ground via incredibly powerful electromagnets which cannot be seen once installed. The alphamesh night time shutter is also ideal for areas of application where hygiene plays a big role, for example service stations in self-service areas. What’s more, as these are usually very difficult to clean, the lack of floor rails is a feature which wins over customers in and of itself.

Visual communication

While the first day of the sales meeting mainly focussed on products and product development, day two placed its emphasis on the areas of product and brand communication. The history of the alphamesh catalogue, presented in its 2019 edition, shows just how alphamesh has developed over the past years. Starting from humble beginnings with a mere 12 pages, the catalogue has since developed into an architectural book whose latest edition exceeded 100 pages in length. When viewed as a whole, the catalogue – whose content is based on the projects carried out by alphamesh – acts as a record for a chapter of recent architectural history. However, above all, it allows readers to experience that which characterises alphamesh as an architectural element – its diversity and changeability, its elegance and value, the effect it has on a space and its distinctiveness.

Virtual communication

alphamesh is communicating across the world – not in the form of a book, but rather in the dynamic form of its new website. A tool that transcends cultural barriers, the website is just as much at home in Tokyo as it is in Sao Paolo or Chicago. A medium which allows for communication which is faster and more direct than any other, the website is ideal for documenting the global creative input which goes towards the development of alphamesh – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Its website takes the special dynamic which makes alphamesh particularly stand out and brings it within arm’s reach…

An architectural journey through time

…. the latest “showcase project” to be presented made those taking part in the sales meeting aware of the sheer variety of designs and functions that ring meshes can have. The name of this project: “THE HILL HOUSE BOX”. Hill House, built in 1902 by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in the Scottish town of Helensburgh, 30 kilometres west of Glasgow, is considered to be an architectural masterpiece. The concept of a temporary museum has been developed for the next 15 years which have been allocated for the house’s restoration. The idea is that of an outer shell made from alphamesh 12.0 which covers the entirety of the historic house’s exterior like a semi-transparent construction fence. Not only does this allow for guests to still enjoy a view of the building, the stairs and paths which have been installed behind the ring mesh curtain actually provide new perspectives and insights into the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
The only thing which remains is to draw our conclusions from the two-day sales meeting. alphamesh has enough potential as a distinctive architectural element that participants in the event used as an invitation to participate in discussions which were based on the principle “experts among experts”. Finally, we would like to conclude with Managing Director Armin Fehr’s closing remarks: “Now that we have positioned the event in this manner, we will be able to further expand the sales meeting into one of the most important channels for communication and information within our company.”
